Camp Inspire is an annual camp held by the Mayflower Scouts to encourage boys enrolling in Mayflower Secondary School to make new friends in their new environment. This year, 4 boys joined us for a day of fun and exciting games, and through them, got to know each other and their seniors.

The organising committee of the camp would like to thank the Mayflower Guides, and the newly formed Mayflower Ventures for their contribution to the successful execution of the camp.

Towards the end of the Ang Mo Kio PLTC in 2009, we asked the participants to write an essay in their log books, reflecting what they have learnt during the course.

The following is what we think one of the best essays written by one of our scouts: Sanjiv. Since then, he has returned home to India, and is no longer in the scout group.

I learnt lots of skills.

I have learnt how to do first aid.

I have learnt how to build a stretcher.

I have learnt how to cook on my own.

I learnt how to survive in the wild.

I learnt how to use the survival kit.

I have learnt to be disciplined.

I have learnt how to lead like a leader.

I have learnt how to be a excellent patrol leader.

Learnt how to sacrifice things for my patrol mates. I will teach them all the things that I have learnt from this PLTC camp. This camp has changed my life in a certain way, so I will help them change their life, and to become a great leader who live to serve the world and change that too. If they encounter any difficulties in achieving good leadership skills, I will always be there. I will be a guiding light to them and always will do the best and I will remember my responsibilities and keep up to my own standards. I will teach my scouts in every skill carefully and properly so that they can understand.
